The seventh video talks briefly about the Tribe of Men, a non-profit Bay Area community of men dedicated to expanding the consciousness and integrity of men. Keith, Lion and Michael are part of the initial group that created the Tribe in 2004, as a direct result of the first Sword and Scepter Workshop. As of November 2009, the Tribe has over 50 men dedicated to expanding the consciousness and integrity of men, and another 10-15 participating and in the process of joining.
About the facilitators:
- Keith Merron (on the left in the video) is the founder of Avista Consulting Group, an organizational consulting and leadership development firm. He has more than 25 years of experience assisting executives and leaders in their own personal transformation, and has designed and led over 100 seminars and workshops for leaders. For the past 10 years, he has devoted much of his spare time to working with men, helping them bring greater resource, power, and satisfaction to the work and their lives. Keith Merron received his Doctorate from Harvard University in 1985, where his studies spanned the fields of human and organization development. Keith is the author of two books on organizational change and a third on leadership development. Keith and Tim Kelley created the Sword and Scepter™ Workshop in 2004.
- Lion Goodman (middle) has coached corporate executives for 30 years as an executive search consultant and career advisor, serving over 250 companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Consciousness Studies in 1975, and has taught workshops in consciousness expansion and self-development for ten years. He has presented his workshop on manifestation, “Creation is Ecstasy,” in six countries. He is the author of “Menlightenment,” a book for men. - Michael Lipson (right) is a business executive, entrepreneur and aspiring “balance master” seeking to live on the razor’s edge between material and spiritual worlds. He was an investment banker for General Electric Capital Company for 8 years, funding $10-$250 million transactions, after which he co-founded a New Media venture consulting group where he helped start-up over 75 internet and technology companies, several of which were later acquired. He has also served as CEO or EVP at 6 different software and psychometric start-ups. Michael has also both facilitated and participated in men’s and couple’s personal development work for several years. Michael has a BA from Union College and later completed MBA level coursework at General Electric.
Keith, Lion and Michael will be joined by a half-dozen other men who will participate in facilitating small groups and producing the workshop.
