Men: Do you want to express yourself more powerfully and authentically?
Have more impact at work, in relationships and in the world.
Our
generation of men, more so than any other, has a confused relationship
to power. Society sends us mixed messages about the role of masculine power:
sometimes denigrating it, and sometimes neutering it. Many depictions
of men expressing power are violent and unfeeling. This work is based
on the view that much of masculine power is “disowned” and as a result, it
is either expressed in counterproductive ways, or is not expressed at
all. "Masculine power" is the subject of a 3.5-day workshop, the Sword and Scepter, created by Keith Merron and Tim Kelley. The Sword and Scepter helps men expand their awareness of how they express, channel and release their power. For men accustomed to using their power, this means learning to wield power in a manner that serves themselves and others. For men who avoid the use of power, it means learning to find it and express it in healthy, productive ways.
