I took a real-time economic poll at today's Keiretsu Forum meeting at SBC headquarters in San Ramon, CA. Of approximately 100 East Bay business leaders at the meeting, 95% are planning to hire in the next year.
At past Keiretsu meetings, I had joked about creating the PeopleSoft Alumni Network, "which we expect to be the fastest growing corporate alumni group in America". It was funny when I never thought it would happen. Now it's not funny. I'm guessing 3,000-4,000 employees will be laid off in the next 60 days. These are real lives, real families....coming into the holidays.
We in the PeopleSoft Alumni Network are reaching out to employers and business leaders to develop a relationship and encourage you to submit your job postings on the PeopleSoft Alumni Network site. All the instructions you need are there.
Again, thank you for your support of former PeopleSoft employees. For their sake, I hope this economy takes off!
