Hats off to Gavin Clarke at the Register for the most entertaining headline of Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff bashing Salesforce.com competitors while announcing quarterly financial results - bashing both SAP and Microsoft. The article finishes with:
Claiming Microsoft customers had picked Salesforce.com rather than Microsoft CRM during the quarter, Benioff finished: "Microsoft's strategy of an inferior product at an inferior price promises to do for on-demand what Zune has done for music players."
Salesforce.com continues to demonstrate on-demand business is viable (with a lot of venture capital at your back) - and their platform strategy nets them their biggest deal of the quarter, to 35,000 users.
Now that would be fun - the big time wrestling ring, spotlights pointed down, Larry and Marc in tights, Bill Gates and Hasso in the other corner also in tights....okay, maybe not.
Or at least, not anytime zune.
